The concept in itself is good.
Gameplay is also a good idea, but there is a big problem.
The defensive units are nearly useless to win. Indeed, the pattern of the rogue ship is way too obvious, and so, I could kill it with just attack units, no need for defense units, which actually slowed me down more than anything.
I only lost half a bar of energy, so I didn't just hoped that I'd survive that way.
Easy way : make 2 columns of ennemy, always refill them one after the other : When the ship will attack one of them, refill as much as possible the one which is not attacked. The rogue ship will then go to the other column and begin shooting it down. do the same thing with the other column, and so on.
The rogue ship wont even target directly the mothership.

it's a good dame, but the AI is seriously stupid.
they just go forward if there's no ennemy, although you don't even tell them to,,usually ending up in their death by a tank or something a few seconds after while it could have been prevented by making them stay behind the barricade.

Not worth playing, just run through alkl ennemies and you only have to fight bowser, also it's stupid to make the jump key A, you could have made the up arrow do that.
Also, the life bar doesn't even work properly
